Introduction
Flipagram is a free app that allows you to create short video montages, or flipagrams, set to music. You can use songs from your own music library, or from the Flipagram music library, which contains a mix of popular songs and lesser known tracks.
What You’ll Need
To get started, you’ll need the following:
-An instrument (guitar, piano, etc.)
-A computer with Internet access
-A Flipagram account (free to sign up)
-An audio recording program (Audacity is a good, free option)
Once you have everything you need, follow these steps to start recording your own music on Flipagram.
Setting Up
Now that you have the app installed on your phone, it’s time to start making some music!
For this guide, we’ll be using the Flipagram app to record our own music. This guide will assume that you have a basic understanding of how to use the app.
First, you’ll need to create a new project in Flipagram. To do this, tap the “+” button in the middle of the main screen.
Once you’ve created a new project, tap the “RECORD” button at the bottom of the screen. This will bring up the recording interface.
Make sure that your microphone is plugged in and positioned correctly before proceeding. If you’re using an external microphone, make sure that it’s properly plugged into your phone.
Once you’re ready to record, tap the big red “REC” button at the bottom of the screen. You’ll see a countdown from 3 before Flipagram starts recording your audio.
You can stop recording at any time by tapping the “STOP” button. Once you’re done recording, tap the “DONE” button to return to the main screen.
Recording
Flipagram offers two ways to record music for your videos: with our built-in music library, or from your own personal device library.
To record from our music library:
-Open the app and select the “+” icon in the bottom center of the screen
-Then, select “Create a post”
-Under “Choose a sound”, select the microphone icon in the top right corner
-You will see a list of available songs. Browse through and select the song you’d like to use, then press “record.”
To record from your personal device:
-Connect your device to Flipagram
-Open the app and select the “+” icon in the bottom center of the screen
-Then, select “Create a post”
-Under “Choose a sound”, select the microphone icon in the top right corner
-You will see a list of available songs. Browse through and select the song you’d like to use, then press “record.”
Editing
To start, find a song you like in your iTunes library and press the edit button in the top right corner of the screen. A pop-up menu will appear with three options: Trim, Duplicate, and Delete. If you want to edit the length of your song, select Trim. You can then use the slider bars on either side of the pop-up preview window to shorten or lengthen the song to your desired length. If you want to use only a portion of the song, first trim it down to that section using the slider bars, then press Duplicate. This will create a copy of that section so you can edit it further without affecting the original song. To delete a song completely, press Delete.
Exporting
Exporting your music
There are two ways to get your music off of Flipagram – by exporting it as an audio file, or by sharing it directly to social media.
To export your music as an audio file:
1. Tap the > in the top right corner of the screen, then tap Export.
2. Tap Audio, then choose where you want to save the file – either to your device’s memory, or to Dropbox.
3. If you choose to save to Dropbox, you’ll be prompted to log in or create an account. Once you have done so, tap Allow when prompted by Flipagram so that we can access your account.
4. Your song will begin exporting – this may take a few minutes depending on the length of the song and the speed of your connection. Once it is finished, you will be able to find it in the location you chose (either in the Flipagram app under “Exports”, or in your Dropbox account).
To share your music directly to social media:
1.Tap the > in the top right corner of the screen, then tap Share.
2.Choose whether you want to share as an audio file (.mp3) or as a video (.mp4). If you choose video, you can also select a cover image for your song from our library of photos and videos, or use one of your own.
3.(optional) Edit any other settings related to your post before tapping Share To at the bottom of the screen – for example, if you’re sharing to Instagram you can crop your cover image and add a filter before sharing.
4.Select where you want to share – either directly to social media (supporting Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), or via another app on your device such as WhatsApp or iMessage. If you choose social media, you may be prompted to log into that account first.
5.(optional) Edit any settings related to how your post will appear on that platform before tapping Share – for example, on Instagram you can add a caption before posting.
6.Your song will begin uploading – this may take a few minutes depending on the length of the song and the speed of your connection

Flipagram is a great way to share your photos and videos with friends and family. But did you know that you can also use Flipagram to record your own music?
To record your own music on Flipagram, first open the app and tap on the “Create” button. Then, tap on the “Music” button and select the “Record” option.
You will then be prompted to choose a song from your music library. Once you have selected a song, you will be able to record your performance by tapping on the “Record” button.
Once you have finished recording, you can then share your performance with your friends and family by tapping on the “Share” button.
